Guided by Bee Happy Bug Houses creator Daniel Jarrett, guests assembled and decorated a smart and sturdy wooden structure to attract and shelter minibeasts. A hotel fit for the finest local bugs and bees! Perfect for hanging outdoors.
Special guest expert entomologist FarmED's Alex Dye, supported by Transition Chipping Norton's Marcus Simmons, led guests on a minibeast trail though our forest and meadowland to see what could be found: under stones and logs; in cracks in tree bark and deadwood; in long grass; on leaves and flowers...
What was included:
~ Build-a-bug-house workshop with Daniel
~ Minibeast trail with Alex and Marcus
~ Honeybee presentation & gift from Helen's Local Honey's Helen Raine
~ Campfire
~ Refreshments (organic/local/seasonal drinks & snacks, including Cotswold Baking cake & campfire-toasted Maud's Marshmallows)
The Campfire Experience donated £5 per ticket sold to sustainable farming and food education centre FarmED CIC. A big THANK YOU to all our guests for the support!
